A blogger turned into an amateur model. Here are some pictures of me trying to model while carrying the outfits in great poise.
It started from Instagram modelling, I used to model in whatever I wore, whether it be an evening party, or a hot summer day, I never forgot to take a good outfit picture.
My story is like many other influencers who turned from a lifestyle fashion blogger to a part-time model.
Inspiration
Pinterest, Instagram and Snapchat greatly influenced my decision of dressing up good. It not only made me explore new options but gave me the audacity to be comfortable in what I wore. For me, it doesn't take a high-end brand to look good, looking good is how comfortable you are in what you carry. The pictures which I have taken for the sake of uploading on my blog, were not only appreciated by the audience, but they also gave me the strength to experiment more.
Pictures ahead
My pictures as a Hijabi influencer inspired a lot of hijabis and thus my reach grew to Abaya brands such as Aizas Creation, Elegance by Lubna and Black Camel. Black Camel proved to be my biggest client with a current following of 38,000. Following are the pictures of me modelling for the above mentioned abaya brands.
Extreme Close-up Shots
Extreme close-up shots are great for showing the details and the intricacy of an object/person/subject.
Dressing up gives me relief
I am very under-confident if I am not dressed nicely for an occasion, for me, an outfit really does speak when you don't. Why fit in when you were born to stand out? Get all the details, meaning, context, and even a pretentious factor for good measure.
I started dressing up good because it gave me a certain amount of relief and made me feel good about myself. I do not at all say that it's the best but I certainly try to make it the best.
Covering all aspects
Modelling isn't just about standing straight and posing for the camera. In real it is promoting the brand in the best way possible.
In my experience, showing the front side, the back side, the sleeves, the borders at the bottom, the neck, everything was required for each abaya. Each abaya took about 45 minutes to be shot and filmed.
What motivated me to model
Beauty, modesty and grace were and have always been my key motivators to dress up.
You do not only describe a brand, you embrace it.
Closeup/ Medium shots
Medium shots are great to get a closeup of your attire, the details and the model herself. I myself really like getting medium shots, also commonly known as the Portrait shots.
Full Length Shots
For wide angle pictures, the posture is different; the body is never straight but tilted. It not only enhances the image but also proves as a medium to showcase the product to be captured.
Publishing
It gives me great pleasure to reveal that my work has not only been published on the digital platform but on website and print as well.
The snippet you’ve seen of my modelling journey has been nothing short of a rollercoaster ride. From waking up at 6am for shoots and travelling across the city, to coming back at 11pm tired, strung out and ready to crash and start all over again the next day. All of the effort that you see here comes from my passion to build a name in the lifestyle industry. And this journey has taught me innumerable lessons along the way. I hope that my story, content and writings bring you motivation to do what you love the most and that helps me work even harder for myself, and that I keep bringing you quality content.
